Spring Break Cruises To The Bahamas- Student Or Family

12 weeks of school and mid terms are over. Several weeks have just been spent studying, cramming, study groups, and tests. There are many ways to spend your time when you are out of school. One of the popular choices of leisure and lounging amongst students all across the world in March are spring break cruises. Some choices for spring break are Mexico, and the Caribbean. Though, one of the more popular choices is a trip to The Bahamas.

Although spring break has received a negative connotation due to the underage drinking, use of drugs and the lowering of morals by vacationers many locations in the United States have raised the drinking age and have banned partying altogether. However, many destinations have catered to family friendly atmospheres thus creating a wide variety of locations to visit by all. Many students as well as families usually plan vacations during this hiatus by booking Spring Break Cruises to destinations like the Bahamas, Caribbean and Mexico.

Choosing a cruise vacation has become more complicated in the past few years. The options are endless and a thorough investigation has to be done to find the right one for you. Whether you’re traveling with the family or just a bunch of school classmates you’ll have many options that could lure you from one cruise line or another.

Vacationing with the family can be hard because you will want more family friendly activities and you will want to stay away from high school and college kids which could get rowdy. Some cruise lines schedule activities for each age group instead of putting all the children together. This way the younger children don’t have to play with the older children. Several kid focused companies such as Fisher-Price and Crayola have come together with cruise businesses for a more exciting and fun vacation experience. And close to nothing will beat the kid focused experience like you would get on a Disney Cruise.

Though a lot of this may sound like fun for the family, it may not be the kind of fun a young adult may be looking for. Planning a trip to the Bahamas, you’ll want to visit as many ports as possible. Such ports as Freeport/Lucaya, Nassau/Paradise Island, Abaco, Bimini, and Eleuthera.

On such scenic cruises, one myth of these cruises is that their policies about the drinking age of 21 aren’t enforced once you leave certain ports. The truth of the matter is that the drinking age will vary across lines- European companies may lower the drinking age to 18 when sailing from non-United States ports. Make sure you fully read and be familiar with the policy’s of the cruise liner in which you are traveling on.

Although most cruises provide the same, if not similar, activities ports of call can change dramatically. The Caribbean ports like Antigua, Grand Cayman and Aruba to name a few live on tourist dollars so accommodations are made to entice all who come near. Acapulco, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas in Mexico like the other ports around the world have become the industry’s standard when it comes to vacationing spots. All have beautiful attractions, like night-clubs and casinos plus miles of pristine beaches.

Remember that not all final destinations are for all. When selecting a spring break cruise trip may it be the Bahamas, Carribean or Mexico, take into consideration who’ll be traveling around you. Family trips could be a disaster if there are too many young adults cavorting around while similarly young adults want to avoid cruises that cater to families exclusively. No matter which cruise line you choose one thing’s for sure; you’ll be well fed.
